Whether it’s jewellery, a veil, hair accessories, undergarments, or something else, all these help create the ultimate look one is going for. We spoke to Nadia, a wardrobe stylist and one of our brides for the previous edition about tips to selecting your wedding day accessories as listed below, to ensure you feel amazing on your wedding day.
Balance and try with your dress before buying
It’s always wiser to balance with and try any accessory on before buying. For example, if the wedding dress is simple, gear up your veil or headpiece, on the contrary, if the dress has a lot of detail the veil should be simple. If you don’t have the dress yet ask for samples of your fabric and colors to match your jewellery, shoes and any other to ensure a cohesive look.
Comfort is key
They say beauty is a pain but is the pain worth it if you not comfortable on your special day? Absolutely not! therefore Nadia emphasizes the reminder that you will be wearing undergarments, shoes, and jewellery for a very long time. More so, it’s important to have a good supportive bra for your wedding dress. “If you do not have a custom-built corset or bra know that there are other options like shapewear”, she added.
Stay true to yourself
If bling doesn’t define you then don’t feel pressured by wearing it. One should stay true to self by selecting accessories that match and are suitable for your style at the same time showing your personality.
Avoid overdoing it
Avoid wanting to include every special bling you have because it’s your special day. Always pick one highlight feature over the other, for instance, a heavily embellished wedding dress and beaded neckpiece or earrings will seem like a competition, as they say, less is more.
