Following a romantic surprise proposal on her birthday, Glorious and Godwin Hanes began dreaming of their wedding at Cresta Churchill Hotel. The couple first met at her workplace, “the spark was instant and unavoidable. He found me watching cartoons and asked to join, I refused at first but he was persistent until I agreed. He had me with his sweet tongue and adorable smile.” Glorious explained.
The wedding took place on the 24th of December. The bride donned a stunning mermaid dress, all the way from the UK. She accessorized with a custom long veil. “I shed tears as I saw her walk down the aisle; she looked like she was out of space,” Godwin said, laughing at the flashback. He looked dapper in a Dolce Gabbana brownish suit. The bridal team looked exquisite in long nude, dresses with a front vent while the groom team wore nude blazers and black pants. The décor was splendid and the wedding theme was modern, with dust pink, navy blue, and white.
200 Guests, on the other hand, moseyed over to the reception. The couple opted for a tent on the inn’s property, which offered ample room for guests to celebrate. “The tent itself had break-out dining rooms under arches so that our parents and their friends were seated in what felt like private alcoves,” the bride said. “This allowed for them to hear the toasts and music clearly, while also allowing them to stay socially distant from others if they wanted to be!”. “We were catered for by the hotel, everyone loved the meal”, she explained.
The couple was so enthralled about the day. “The thought of officially making her mine made me smile the whole time, I really couldn’t wait. I almost shed a tear or two as I saw her walk down the aisle, she looked heavenly sent.” Godwin gave us an insight on the day and added that he had zero regrets about how their wedding day went by. The bride on the other hand couldn’t pick a moment that summed up the day for her because every single moment of the ceremony was her favorite. “From the dressing up to the walking down the aisle, the exchanging of vows, the food, the entertainment, and everything in general just flawed flawlessly. I really couldn’t believe one could plan a perfect wedding in two months”, she reminisced on the day. She also gave a special thanks to her mother-in-law and the bishop together with her sister and two aunts who played a mammoth role in ensuring a smooth flow of events.
To the future brides and grooms, the couple’s advice was that people should include God in all their planning. “Pray! Pray and Pray! And all your wishes will be fulfilled. And above all, work hand in hand with your partner.”
